Destination Christmas

Destination Christmas is a 6-week series that follows the journey to Jesus — from Nazareth to Bethlehem, from the Judean Hills to Jerusalem, and ultimately to Heaven and beyond.

Each week unpacks a story of faith, obedience, and hope, showing how God’s plan was written into every stop along the way.

As we travel through these destinations together, we’ll discover how the same God who guided Mary, Joseph, and the shepherds still leads us today.

WEEK 1 — PASTOR JOE BOYD

Destination Nazareth — Mary’s Calling

Mary’s journey begins in an ordinary place with an extraordinary calling. In Nazareth, God interrupts Mary’s life with a message that seems impossible—but invites her into His miraculous plan. This week we learn that God still calls ordinary people to believe the impossible and trust His word even before we see results.

WEEK 2 — PASTOR JOE BOYD

Destination Bethlehem — Joseph’s Obedience

Joseph’s journey is marked by inconvenience, discomfort, and obedience. God uses a Roman census to move Joseph and Mary exactly where He wants them. Through Joseph we see that following God often disrupts our plans, but always leads us into His promises. Obedience may require movement, but God provides in the humble places along the way.

WEEK 3 — PASTOR JOE BOYD

Destination Judean Hills — Shepherds’ Encounter

The shepherds go from routine to revelation as heaven breaks into their ordinary night. Their encounter with Jesus leads to overflowing joy and bold witness. Worship begins with wonder—but it doesn’t stay silent. This week challenges us to respond quickly to God’s interruptions and share the good news with others.

WEEK 4 — PASTOR JOE BOYD

Destination Jerusalem — Simeon & Anna’s Hope

Simeon and Anna waited faithfully for years to see the Messiah—and in Jerusalem their hope is fulfilled. Their story teaches us that waiting on God is active, not passive, and that long-term faithfulness is always rewarded. When hope finally arrives, it testifies. This message invites us to trust God’s timing and hold onto hope with expectancy.

CHRISTMAS EVE — PASTOR JOE BOYD

Destination Heaven — The Ultimate Gift

Every journey in the Christmas story ultimately leads upward—toward heaven breaking into earth. Jesus came as the Savior we could never reach on our own. The wise men sought Him, the angels announced Him, and heaven offered Him as the greatest gift of all. Christmas Eve is an invitation to come home to God through Jesus.

WEEK 5 — PASTOR JOE BOYD

Destination Forward — Preparing for 2026

After Christmas the journey continues. Like the wise men returning home by another route, God calls us into a new year with new direction. Through Paul’s words in Philippians 3, we step into 2026 ready to release the past, press forward in faith, and embrace God’s grand “gift exchange”—moving from confusion to clarity, isolation to connection, aimlessness to assignment, and comfort to calling.
